Howdie Allison Lanik!
The Wrangler sat down with senior Allison Lanik to discuss her accomplishments as a varsity member on girls volleyball at George Ranch High School.
The Wrangler: How did your volleyball season go this year?
Lanik: It went really well. We made it to the third round in playoffs, which is the farthest we have ever gotten. It was so exciting.
The Wrangler: Do you feel like your coaches impacted your high school years?
Lanik: Yes, for sure. The volleyball coaches are really big on team chemistry and a family environment. Also, through volleyball, I’ve met some of my best friends.
The Wrangler: How has volleyball influenced your life?
Lanik: Besides giving me lasting friendships, it has really helped me gain responsibility, character, and confidence.
The Wrangler: Do you play volleyball outside of school?
Lanik: Yes, I play club ball.
The Wrangler: How was it balancing senior year, college applications, and volleyball?
Lanik: Applying to colleges was stressful for me, but volleyball is my outlet, so it wasn’t too bad.
The Wrangler: Are you proud of the season you had this year?
Lanik: Yes, it was such an amazing year. Especially since it was my last.
The Wrangler: How did it feel to end the volleyball season knowing it was your last high school game?
Lanik: It was sad, but in a way, I was relieved.
The Wrangler: Are you going to continue volleyball in college?
Lanik: Yes, I committed to play volleyball at Blinn.
The Wrangler: What do you want to do with volleyball once you graduate?
Lanik: I want to become a coach for club volleyball.
