One Giant Leap for Man
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the class Astronomy. Its year-long mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no class has gone before.
Taught by Mrs. Woolslayer, Astronomy is a new class, among others, that explores all things space. Although that seemed to be the intent, all students are learning about are the smaller aspects – the aspects that make it possible to examine space at all. The class delves tediously into these tools of observation, learning for weeks on end how a telescope works, the differences between a reflection and refraction telescope, and what the heck an f-ratio is (the focal length divided by aperture).
Through these monotonous lessons and procedures, the individuals prep themselves in building a personal telescope. How to go about doing so, many aren’t sure, but it is certain that The Wrangler will be following closely behind future projects.
