Longhorn Sports Report Winter Edition 4

Wrap-up on Longhorn Varsity Sports from 1/10 through 1/17.

Howdy Longhorns! Welcome back to the fourth rendition of the Longhorn Sports Report for the winter season.  This week we cover more 20-6a District matchups and some tournament play. 

Coach Henry’s Boys Varsity squad lost four more games since we last wroate about them, losing 49-37 to FB Clements, 87-54 against Tompkins in tournament play, 61-59 against FB Austin, and 51-35 to FB Travis.  This brings the Longhorns overall record 10-17 and 0-9 in 20-6A play. The ‘Horns host rivals FB Ridge Point on Friday, January 20th, at the GR Gymnasium. 

Coach Trotter’s Girls Varsity squad went 2-1 this past week, winning against FB Travis 71-43 and FB Clements 62-27.  Their lone loss came against FB Austin by a score of 75-42. These games bring their overall record to 16-14 and 6-5 in 20-6a play. The Lady Longhorns travel into rival territory as they take on FB Ridge Point on Friday, January 20th, at Ridge Point High School. 

Longhorns Boys Soccer went 0-1-1 in their first two district games drawing to FB Clements 2-2 and losing to FB Austin 5-1. The Longhorns also participated in the Cy-Fair Tournament this past weekend where they went 1-2 winning against Royal HS 3-1 while dropping to Cypress Woods HS 3-1 and Westbury HS 4-3.  The ‘Horns welcome FB Travis on Friday, January 20th, at the Longhorn Soccer Field. 

Lady Longhorn Soccer went 2-0 in district play beating FB Clements on penalties and FB Austin 3-1. They also participated in the I-10 shootout where they beat Montgomery HS 4-0 and drew to Friendswood HS 0-0. The Lady Longhorns look to keep their undefeated district record when they take on FB Travis on Friday, January 20th, at Travis High School.
