Scientists believe that the virus originates at a seafood market in Wuhan, China. Chinese officials are now advising people to not travel to Wuhan, China due to the outbreak. Chinese officials are worried mainly because millions of people are expected to travel to China for the upcoming Lunar New Year starting February 1st through the 8th. The city has now locked down all transportation to other cities.

As of January 21st, a man in Washington State has been diagnosed with the Wuhan virus. The man is a US resident who has recently traveled to Wuhan, China. According to a Business Insider article, an emergency committee for the World Health Organization is said to meet soon to determine whether to declare the outbreak of a public health emergency.
