Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell is a 17 year old songwriter and singer who has been trending this year. She is starting to become one of the biggest stars to emerge ever since the release of her debut single “Ocean Eyes”.

Billie Eilish was born on December 28, 2001, in Los Angeles, California. She was homeschooled ever since she was 5, and at age 8, she joined the Los Angeles Children’s chorus. She started to make music and write songs age 11, being inspired after her older brother, Finneas O’Connell, who already wrote, performed, and made his own songs with his band. Today, Billie and Finneas have become a great duo as Finneas helps Billie with songwriting.

Billie is also known as the daughter of Maggie Baird, who is an American actress and songwriter. She has worked on movies like Inside Out and Mass Effect 2.

At age 14, Billie signed a record deal with Interscope records. She spent the end of 2017 studying for midterms+

while trying to make music with her brother.

Billie’s first song was “Ocean Eyes” and was released in 2017. This track made her well-known because a lot of people loved the tone of her voice. She now has made many songs like “Copycat” and “My Boy.”

Her first EP, Don’t Smile at Me, was released on August 11, 2017. The EP consists of nine songs featured by her brother and Vince Staples, who is an American rapper and actor. Some of the songs also appeared in movies and TV shows, like 13 Reasons Why and Shadowhunters.

In August 2018, Billie as one of the top emerging singers in the U.S. and secured the second spot on the Billboard’s chart of Hot 100. Her songs “You Should See Me in a Crown” , debuted at #93 and “Lovely”, which featured Khalid, peaked #78 during July 2018.
