Shooting at YouTube Headquarters

Yet another shooting occurred the other day in San Bruno, California.

Witnesses described seeing a woman shooting a gun in the courtyard of YouTube headquarters on April 3, at about 12:45 pm. When police arrived on the scene, three people had already been shot and injured

Once they got inside the main business complex, the police had found the body of Nasim Najafi Aghdam, 39, who had apparently shot and killed herself.

Police have said that they have not yet discovered any “evidence that the shooter knew any of the victims… or that the targets were individually targeted”.

Aghdam was known to have a Youtube channel of her own, where she posted videos discussing topics like veganism, fitness, and animal cruelty.  She had claimed that the company had been discriminating against her and was filtering her videos to keep them from getting views. According to her father, she had been telling her relatives what Youtube had been supposedly doing, and how “she was angry” and that she “hated” the company.

Chief executive of Google had this to say to the Washington Post: “I know a lot of you are in shock right now… we will continue to provide support to help everyone in our Google family heal from this unimaginable tragedy.”
