Adoption Agencies Ban LGBTQ Couples
America has, yet again, tried to take away basic human rights from the LGBTQ community.
March 6, 2018
The Georgia Senate approved a bill last week that will allow adoption agencies to have the ability to prohibit all LGBTQ couples. The bill was approved by a 35-19 vote and was introduced by the Republican State Senator William Ligon this past week.
The bill falls under the multiple attempts to drive away LGBTQ rights after the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage in 2015, including past attempts in trying to allow independent bakeries to turn down catering for a LGBTQ wedding.
Supporters of the new bill root their reasons to religious concerns as to why they had thrown all their support towards such state-sanctioned prejudice.
