Sutherland Springs Church Shooting

Worried. Terrified. Scared. Heartbroken. These are just some of the emotions people were feeling in Sutherland Springs, Texas after church on Sunday.
A man walked into the First Baptist Church on Sunday morning and opened fire. At least 20 people were killed and more victims are being treated at local hospitals near San Antonio, Texas.
Sutherland Springs is a small town located outside of San Antonio with a population around 400 people. The small town has two gas stations, the church, a community center, post office, a Dollar General, and a tire shop.
“It lasted about 15 seconds” a witness said, according to ABC News.
After the shooting, the shooter fled the scene in a vehicle and was later found dead in the vehicle in Guadalupe County. It is still unclear if he shot himself or someone else did.
The shooter has been identified as 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelley. Police have been searching the shooter’s home for explosive devices.
According to Dallas News, this shooting has been classified as the worst shooting in Texas history.
“We went through the worst mass shooting in modern American history just over a month ago. Politicians offered their ‘thoughts and prayers’ tweets. … This uniquely American cycle must stop. Americans are slain in their houses of prayer and all their elected officials will offer is prayer. We must do more” Dallas News said.
