Being safe on Halloween is always important, no matter how old you are. There are a lot of ways to be safe and have a fun time and these few tips will ensure everyone that you celebrate with has a safe time.
Carry flashlights or glow sticks while trick-or-treating
Popular trick-or-treating hours are 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. so be especially alert for kids during those hours.
Avoid Trick-or-treating by yourself
Check candy for any weapons like razor blades
Don’t eat any loose, unwrapped, or unbranded candy
Don’t assume the right of way while trick-or-treating, motorists have trouble seeing trick-or-treaters
Opt for makeup or face paint instead of masks to not obscure your vision
Place lit Jack-o-Lanterns away from flammable objects and areas with lots of traffic
