Mia Conde is a junior at George Ranch high school who is in yearbook. She enjoys watching super hero movies and Star Wars. She is a vegetarian and a feminist.

The Wrangler: When did you decide to become a vegetarian?

Mia Conde: Originally it was a bet with my friends, but they ended up not participating, but I decided to keep going because it was something that I had wanted to do for a long time.

The Wrangler: What were your reasons for becoming a vegetarian?

Mia Conde: The meat industry is not only bad for animals it contributes to global warming.

The Wrangler: How long have you been a vegetarian?

Mia Conde: Since New Years.

The Wrangler: Do you think you’ll ever stop being a vegetarian?

Mia Conde: No I hope not. I’m proud of the choice I made.

The Wrangler: Does being a vegetarian help you eat healthier? 

Mia Conde: It definitely helps me avoid fast food.

The Wrangler: How do you know if you are getting enough protein? 

Mia Conde: I try to drink protein shakes for breakfast and I also take vitamins at night.

The Wrangler: What is good about a vegetarian diet?

Mia Conde: You aren’t eating animals and you don’t feel as bloated.

The Wrangler: What are some downside of being a vegetarian?

Mia Conde: A lot of people are definitely not understanding. When I’m going out to eat with friends or family its kind of awkward when people feel they have to cater to you.

Mia Conde: Have you lost weight since you became a vegetarian?

The Wrangler: What motivates you to keep sticking with it?

Mia Conde: Knowing that what I’m doing is beneficial for not just for me, but for animals and the environment.
