The two candidates – Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton

By Kyler Telge, Staff Writer

Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton. Election day is finally here, and at long last we get to know who will win this historic election between these two rival candidates. Either candidate could have a huge impact on America; George Ranch is waiting in anticipation to see who will become the next president for the next four years.  According to our mock vote, Hilary Clinton will win by a small margin.

One thing that could have an impact on the results is the Electoral College, which is the collective group of peoples in power. They are the deciders of the chief in command if you will. In the past the Electoral College was a way of providing smaller, less populous states with the power needed to give a fair vote. Nowadays, even though the need to address unpopular states still exists, the focus hinges on so-called “swing states”.

Even though a candidate may win the majority popular vote they might not win the Electoral College leading to their loss of the presidency. This has decided elections in the past and provides clear victories in close ones.
