Prom 2016 Makeup Tutorial
May 18, 2016
- Start with a clean face. The first step is to apply a primer like Benefit’s Porefessional Face Primer to the areas where you have visible pores on your face.
2. Next apply your foundation. I am using Too Faced: Born this Way in the shade Pearl and stippling it on my face with the BH Cosmetics Flat Blending Face Brush.
3. For concealer I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer. It’s best to apply this under the eyes, on the center of the forehead and the chin. Next, I blended this out with the Real Techniques Beauty Sponge.
4. To make sure your base stays all night long, set everything with a powder. The technique I use is called baking- take a damp sponge and press powder (do not swipe) all along the areas where you applied concealer.
5. Use the same powder and a fluffy brush to swipe away the baked areas and set the rest of your face.
6. Eyes: I am using the whitest shade in the 35W Morphe palette to set my eyes and prime it before the other colors. For this you can use any brush you want to.
7. Next, I will use the taupe-brown in my crease as a transition shade. It is best to apply this with a medium fluffy brush.
8. To add depth to the eyes I am using the deep purple shade in the palette and another fluffy brush. Place this in the crease and corner of the eye.
9. For the lid I chose the Pink Champagne shade from the Anastasia Self-Made Palette. Use a flat shading brush and press the color onto the lid. If there is any fall out from the shadow swipe it away with a face brush.
10. Next take the same purple shade we placed in the crease and with a small, precise brush smudge it along the lower lash line.
11. For eyeliner I am using Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner to create a classic, winged line.
12. For eyebrows, start by brushing out the hairs so everything is neat and in the right place. Once you do that fill in your brow with the pencil so that no “bald” spots are showing.
13. Finally, add the mascara of your choice and if you feel comfortable enough you can apply false lashes.
14. To add some color to my face I am starting with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. Apply this with the brush of your choice under your cheek bones and around your temples.
15. Next I am using the Wet N’ Wild ColorIcon for blush and applying this to the apples of my cheeks for more color.
16. To line my lips I am using Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in the shade “All Natural”. After that I will apply NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade “Abu Dhabi”.
17. Now the look is complete. You can set it with a setting spray and enjoy your prom night!
