BASEBALL: The JV Baseball team lost to Kempner 12-14 on Thursday, February 25 at the Ranch. It was a true team effort. The team moves to 1-1 on the year and will regroup to play Manvel on Friday night at the Ranch in day two of the LCISD JV Baseball Tournament.
SOCCER: The Varsity boys soccer team played a match against Lamar on Tuesday, February 23. The boys lost 2-0 and will play against Calhoun HS next Tuesday at home. The girls soccer team traveled to Lamar to take on the Lady Mustang on a cold and windy night. The JV took control early and won the game 3-0. Goals were scored by Grace Ramirez, Laura Cardenas and Emma Carlson, with 2 assist from Noely Hernandez. Gabriella Perez, Dany Dunk and Carson Yanta all had solid games for the Longhorns. The varsity team took command early defeating the Mustangs 9-0. Jordan Shimaitis and Shreya Desai both scored two goals each with Gabby Galvan, Taylor Rech, Tayler Jasek and Austin Martz each scoring one. Assisting goals were Taylor Rech had two with Jordan Shimaitis, Gabby Galvan, Jenna Sanders, Ariana Salazar, Shreya Desai and Shana Hardin. The girls will host Calhoun on Tuesday.
SOFTBALL: The Varsity softball team played in the Haney Spirit tournament in Pearland on Thursday, February 25. In game 1 the Longhorns tied the Sterling Rangers 4-4 and in game 2 the Longhorns lost to Tomball 1-0. The Longhorns continue play on Friday, February 26.
TRACK: Last night the JV and Freshman Boys Track teams finished first place respectively at the Longhorn Relays. First place finishes for the night included Josh Prushing in the 3200, Raul Zepeda in the 800, Marcus Diep in the 1600, Thomas Cook in the 200, Raymond Martinez in the 3200, Luke Edjmon in the 800, Alex Burgess in the 1600, Jeremiah Russell in the Discus, Joshua Whitmore in the Triple Jump and Dylan Swain in the Long Jump and David Jenkins in the Long Jump. Next week the boys travel to Angleton to continue the season.
